Align
Spiritual Direction, Faith Deconstruction & Soul Care
Create space to explore your spiritual life, deepen your connection with God or the sacred, and find compassionate support for faith questioning, religious trauma, and spiritual change.
Our spiritual lives do not always follow a straight path.
There may be seasons when faith feels grounding and deeply alive, and others when beliefs that once felt certain begin to shift. You may long for a deeper relationship with God, the Divine, or a higher power. You may be questioning what you believe, grieving the loss of a faith community, trying to make sense of harmful religious experiences, or wondering whether there is still a spiritual home for you after everything that has changed.
Align offers a thoughtful, compassionate space for that work.
Drawing from spiritual direction, theological reflection, contemplative practice, and my background in ministry, we make room for your questions without rushing toward answers. You do not need to defend what you believe, return to beliefs that no longer feel true, or abandon spirituality in order to heal from the ways religion may have harmed you.
Instead, we listen carefully to your experience, explore what feels sacred and meaningful now, and pay attention to the places where connection, longing, grief, doubt, hope, or possibility are emerging.
The goal is not to tell you what to believe. It is to help you develop a spiritual life that is honest, grounded, meaningful, and genuinely your own.
Three Areas of Align
Align creates space for spiritual growth, honest questioning, and deeper connection with what is sacred and meaningful to you.
The work may take different forms depending on where you are in your spiritual life, but it often centers around three closely connected areas: spiritual direction and soul care, faith questioning and deconstruction, and healing from religious harm.
Spiritual Direction and Soul Care
Spiritual direction is a contemplative practice of paying attention to your inner life and the ways you experience God, the Divine, a higher power, or the sacred.
Rather than giving advice or telling you what you should believe, spiritual direction creates space to listen more deeply. Together, we may explore prayer, discernment, spiritual practices, meaning, vocation, longing, doubt, gratitude, grief, or the places where you sense movement in your spiritual life.
You may come because you want to deepen an existing faith, reconnect with spirituality after a period of distance, develop a more meaningful spiritual practice, or simply have a place where your spiritual life can be taken seriously.
The goal is not to reach a predetermined spiritual destination. It is to become more attentive to what feels sacred, life-giving, honest, and true in your own experience.
Faith Questioning and Deconstruction
Questioning your faith does not necessarily mean losing it.
Sometimes spiritual growth involves examining beliefs you inherited, reconsidering ideas that no longer fit, or allowing yourself to ask questions that once felt unsafe, forbidden, or disloyal.
Deconstruction can involve theology, scripture, images of God, church teachings, identity, morality, belonging, or the ways religious beliefs have shaped how you understand yourself and the world.
In this space, questions do not need to be rushed toward answers.
We can explore what you believe now, what you are uncertain about, what you may be grieving, and what—if anything—you want to carry forward. Your spiritual life is allowed to change.
The goal is not to dismantle faith for the sake of dismantling it or to lead you toward a particular set of beliefs. It is to help you engage your spiritual questions with honesty, curiosity, and freedom.
Religious Trauma and Spiritual Healing
Religious experiences can be deeply meaningful, but they can also cause profound harm.
You may have experienced judgment, exclusion, shame, fear-based teaching, spiritual manipulation, rejection because of your identity, unhealthy leadership, loss of community, or other experiences that damaged your trust in religion, spiritual authority, or even God.
Religious trauma can leave complicated questions behind: What do I still believe? Can I trust a faith community again? Why did God allow this? Was something wrong with me? Is there a way to be spiritual without returning to the system that hurt me?
Align offers space for those questions without minimizing what happened or pressuring you toward reconciliation with a tradition, institution, or belief system.
We can make room for anger, grief, doubt, loss, hope, and whatever else is part of your experience while exploring what healing and spiritual connection might look like for you now.
The goal is not to restore the spirituality you had before. It is to help you discover whether there is a spiritual life that feels safer, freer, more honest, and more deeply your own.
What We May Explore Together
Align is shaped around your spiritual life, questions, experiences, and needs. There is no single path you are expected to follow and no predetermined belief system you are expected to arrive at.
Depending on where you are in your journey, we may explore:
Deepening your connection with God, the Divine, a higher power, or the sacred in ways that feel meaningful and authentic to you.
Exploring prayer, meditation, contemplation, journaling, nature, ritual, or other spiritual practices that help you feel more grounded and connected.
Listening for meaning, direction, or discernment when you are facing a decision, transition, question, or season of uncertainty.
Examining beliefs you inherited and discerning which still feel true, life-giving, or aligned with the person you are becoming.
Making space for doubt, grief, anger, or spiritual disorientation without treating those experiences as failures of faith.
Healing from religious shame, exclusion, manipulation, fear, or harmful teachings while allowing you to define what spiritual healing means for yourself.
Exploring your understanding of God or the sacred and how that understanding may have changed through different seasons of your life.
Reconnecting with spirituality after distance, disappointment, or religious harm without pressure to return to a particular church, denomination, or belief system.
Exploring meaning, purpose, vocation, and values as part of a deeper spiritual life rather than simply as goals to accomplish.
Creating spiritual practices and rhythms that support greater connection, reflection, peace, and attentiveness in everyday life.
The goal is not to give you a spiritual formula or lead you toward a particular conclusion. It is to create a thoughtful, compassionate space where you can listen more deeply, ask honest questions, and discover what feels sacred, true, and life-giving in your own spiritual journey.

You do not need to have the right words, a clear theology, or certainty about what you believe before beginning.
You do not need to have the right words, a clear theology, or certainty about what you believe before beginning. This work can simply begin with where you are now.
What Is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is a reflective, one-on-one practice that gives you space to pay attention to your spiritual life more deeply.
Unlike coaching, which often focuses on goals, action steps, and change, spiritual direction is less about fixing something and more about listening. It creates room to notice what is happening within you, explore your relationship with God, the Divine, a higher power, or the sacred, and reflect on the questions, experiences, and longings that are shaping your spiritual life.
A spiritual direction session may include conversation, silence, prayer, meditation, journaling, reflection on sacred texts, or other contemplative practices, depending on what feels meaningful and appropriate for you.
You do not need to belong to a particular faith tradition, have a settled theology, or know exactly what you believe. Spiritual direction can support people with a strong faith, people who are questioning or deconstructing, people healing from religious harm, and people who simply want a deeper relationship with the sacred.
The role of a spiritual director is not to tell you what to believe or give you the answers. It is to listen with you, ask thoughtful questions, help you notice what may be emerging, and create space for deeper discernment and spiritual understanding.
At its heart, spiritual direction is an invitation to slow down, listen more deeply, and become more attentive to what feels sacred, true, and life-giving in your own experience.
Create a Spiritual Life That Feels Honest and Life-Giving
Your spiritual life does not have to look the way it once did in order to be meaningful.
You may be deepening a faith that still feels alive, questioning beliefs that no longer fit, grieving what was lost, healing from religious harm, or discovering a new way of relating to God, the Divine, a higher power, or the sacred.
Align gives you space to listen more closely to what is happening within you and to explore what feels true, meaningful, and life-giving now.
There is no requirement to arrive at certainty.
Sometimes the work is about reconnecting. Sometimes it is about grieving. Sometimes it is about asking questions you were never allowed to ask. And sometimes it is simply about making room for a spiritual life that feels more honest, grounded, and deeply your own.

Do I need to be religious to benefit from spiritual alignment coaching?
Not at all. This work is completely non-dogmatic and inclusive. Whether you have a specific faith tradition, identify as "spiritual but not religious," or simply want to cultivate deeper purpose, intuition, and mindfulness, this space honors your unique worldview.
How is spiritual coaching different from traditional life coaching?
Traditional life coaching often focuses heavily on external strategies, productivity, and tactical goals. While we still honor your real-world ambitions, spiritual alignment coaching focuses on your internal foundation—helping you quiet mental noise, build deep self-trust, and make choices aligned with your soul's truth.
Is this coaching experience a replacement for therapy?
No. Spiritual alignment coaching is a forward-focused partnership designed to help you build inner awareness, process life transitions, and develop supportive spiritual practices. It is not a replacement for medical care, clinical therapy, or mental health treatment.
What if I struggle to connect with my intuition or quiet my mind?
That is completely normal, especially for high-achievers accustomed to constant mental output. We start slowly with practical grounding tools, somatic practices, and guided reflection to help you filter out external demands and reconnect with your inner voice at your own pace.
What can I expect during our private coaching sessions?
Every session is tailored to where you need support most. We combine reflective conversation and intuitive questioning with practical "soul-work" practices—such as grounding breathwork, journaling prompts, or routine design—that you can seamlessly integrate into your daily life.
