Hi, I’m Sarah.
I created Rocky Trails and Rainbows to support people who are carrying so much internally while still showing up for everyone and everything around them. Many of the individuals I work with are deeply compassionate, capable, and resilient—but constantly pushing through stress, overwhelm, and emotional weight can eventually become exhausting.
I know what it feels like when life becomes heavier than you can comfortably carry on your own.
There was a season of my life marked by personal illness, frequent moves for my spouse’s career, uncertainty, chronic stress, and the emotional weight of trying to keep going when everything felt unstable. During that time, I realized I couldn’t always control what was happening around me, but I could begin changing the way I cared for myself and moved through daily life.
What began as a personal search for steadiness gradually became the foundation for the work I now share with others.
I started creating supportive routines, mindfulness practices, healthier boundaries, and more intentional ways of living that helped me feel more grounded, balanced, and connected to myself again. I learned that lasting change rarely comes from pushing harder—it comes from creating a life that genuinely supports your well-being.
Over time, I became deeply passionate about holistic wellness, mindful living, sustainable self-care, personal growth, and spiritual alignment—not as abstract ideas, but as practical and meaningful ways to navigate real life.
Today, my work is centered on helping people move from overwhelm toward restoration through a grounded, holistic approach that supports lasting change across every area of life.
Through The Rocky Trails to Restoration Method™, I help people:
* recover from burnout and chronic overwhelm
* simplify daily life and reduce unnecessary stress
* create supportive routines and sustainable self-care practices
* strengthen self-worth, boundaries, and emotional well-being
* reconnect with their values, purpose, and spiritual life
My approach is compassionate, structured, and rooted in the belief that transformation does not have to come through constant pressure, perfectionism, or striving. Meaningful change becomes possible when you are supported in creating a way of living that feels balanced, intentional, and sustainable.
I believe no one should have to navigate life’s rocky trails alone.
While healing and growth are rarely linear, it is possible to create a life that feels calmer, more grounded, and more aligned with who you truly are.
Let me tell you a bit about my background and qualifications:
Iliff School of Theology, M.Div.
I have a Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology, a United Methodist seminary school that welcomes many faith traditions. It’s recognized globally for its focus on peace, justice, and ethics.
In addition to academic training, I learned self-care and self-awareness through my spiritual care courses. Spiritual care looks a lot like spiritual direction and coaching, where the emphasis is on listening deeply and being fully present with others.
Benet Hill Monastery, Certified Spiritual Director
After Iliff, I earned my spiritual direction certification through Benet Hill Monastery. This was a time of transformation for me, and I grew spiritually. I was introduced to different kinds of spiritual practices and tools for developing my relationship with the divine.
While I was finishing my studies at Benet Hill, I chose to become a certified coach. Coaching, in particular, gave me the skills to help people move forward and reach their goals. It taught me how to ask thoughtful questions to help others reflect and work through their circumstances in a constructive way.
I’ve always felt connected to the divine, and I continue to nurture that connection through spiritual practices. I’m a 200-hour yoga teacher, and I’m working on my 300-hour certification. I’m a dedicated lifelong learner and enjoy having something to work on and think about.
I’m very interested in mindful and slow living. The slow living movement emphasizes the need to simplify our lives and slow down to reduce stress and improve our well-being. It encourages us to focus on the present moment and the simple pleasures of life. In this fast-paced and overwhelming world, I crave peace, and I intentionally cultivate it through mindful living practices. These practices include decluttering, organizing, simplifying my life, and self-care. I also focus on creating aesthetically-pleasing spaces that are cozy, comfortable, and functional. You can read more about my mindful living coaching package here.
Some activities I enjoy include being in nature, hiking, photography, oil painting, and playing the guitar and songwriting. I have a passion for British crime dramas, and I love trying new plant-based recipes in the Instant Pot. I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our two adorable kitties, Mandi and Brinney.
Coaching is transformative, and I'm passionate about what I do. You can discover more about our current offerings here, and reach out if you have any questions.
